Our community is located within one mile from Western Carolina University. Students will have the convenience of walking to class and have the option to go completely carless! Because our building is so close to campus, most residents choose to walk or ride their bikes to class. Our community has the beautiful views of the mountains and residents can request apartments that have a view for their living experience with us.

Most maintenance requests are free of charge. We strive to complete work orders within 24 hours of receiving notification from the tenant. Tenants can easily submit a maintenance request using the online resident portal or by calling the leasing office during regular office hours. We will also have on-call emergency line, where residents can call after-hours for maintenance emergencies.
A SIMPLE PROCESS
Our application and lease process is simple and tailored to today’s savvy student and parent. The lease process may be done in the office or entirely online. Starting with the application, each resident must pass a background check. After signing a lease, a guarantor (usually a parent) of each student will need to sign the Guaranty Agreement, which is then attached to the completed lease. Our leases are by-the-bed, which means that all residents are individually responsible for his or her own payment. With this type of lease, you are only responsible for your student's rent. You're not liable for the roommates' rent at all! Unlike a traditional lease or a joint lease, if your roommate transfers or graduates, you have nothing to worry about.
Catamount Peak offers FREE Roommate Matching to our residents. Your student won't have to worry about finding a roommate online or searching the entire campus, we'll do the work for you and all you have to do is simply fill out a questionnaire! If your student has friends they plan to room with, it is as simple as requesting each other and we will place them together.
FULLY FURNISHED APARTMENTS
Don't worry about hiring movers or renting a truck, Catamount Peak is fully furnished. The days of moving a bed up a flight of stairs are long gone... just bring your personal items and you're set! Each apartment comes with all major appliances, living room and bedroom furniture. Each bedroom has an Full bed with plenty of storage room underneath.
All of our residents and their guarantors have access to our online resident portal, helping you and them keep up to date with their life here in Cullowhee! You or your student can pay rent online via checking or savings account, set up automatic monthly payments, and submit maintenance requests, all with just a few clicks of your mouse!
